wow that was some good racing!
|
cossies were awesome in the eighties and early 90's, 492hp from 2 litres!
|
Good stuff! Traction control, ABS............who needs it!
Brought back fond memories of the '87 Merkur I had, that little 2 litre was surprising. It had some suspension work, an inter-cooler and I bumped the boost up to 22 lbs and it was legitimately fast. Downside was it's brakes were on par with my '66 GTO. :wow: |
I would love to have an Merkur XR4TI for a fun project
|
I've owned 2 merkurs XR4TI's and I wish I still had at least one of them. I tried using both for daily drivers (at different times in my life) and they were both very finicky. I love the styling of the cars and will one day have one again. I would absolutely love to have one as a dedicated track car. Merkur aftermarket parts are expensive though!

Mine was pretty reliable, but the brakes were nothing short of scary but with today's brake options it would still be a respectable car. |
and heated seats! my first one was leather as well. I'll never forget the sloppy slush box T-9 thats for sure.
