Drivetrain power loss

Hello,

Is there a calculation to determine your crankshaft output via chassis dyno results?

There is no exact calculation, but you can estimate. Manual trans combos typically lose 10-15% from engine HP to RWHP. Auto trans is usually 15-20%. However I have seen combos outside of these numbers several times, combos that were dynoed on an engine dyno and then in the vehicle.

The only way to know for sure is to dyno the engine in the exact configuration it will be in the car (air intake, filter, exhaust, etc.) and then re-dyno on a chassis dyno.
