New Driveline or Donor Driveline Shortened?
Hey Guys, I am doing a Viper T56 swap into my 65 Chevelle. The car has a 10 bolt and 1310 u-joints. I need to swap the trans yoke to match the 30 spline Viper output shaft and I'm considering moving up to 1350 u-joints requiring a pinion yoke swap. Not sure if finding a donor driveline out of a 1/2 ton chevy truck (with 1350 u-joints) shortened for application is a good idea or if I should move up to custom Chromoly drive shaft. I am concerned about critical driveline speeds as I will be keeping a 3" shaft for tunnel clearance.

I'd get a price from IEDLS then decide.
http://www.iedls.com/Driveshafts/Critical-Link.asp Their service and turn around time was great when I did my conversion and I ended up with a stronger driveline. |
Hey guys, I went with Steve at South Bay Driveline
He did a great job and had a single day turn around, actually he did it in 4 hours! He was a huge help and made my T56 swap happen smoothly. |
I've used South Bay Driveline and San Leandro Driveline locally in SF Bay Area. Both shops have similar pricing and fast turnaround.
A 1350 series Ujoint is miles stronger than a 1310 series. |
