Being born in '58 and impressionable by the mid-60's there were many cars that created my addiction. My parents had zero interest in performance oriented motorcycles or cars. A couple cars that really got me was my dentists '71 Trans Am 455 H.O. 4 speed car, a high school buddy's '69 Z/28 Red, and a friends '66 GTO factory tach 4-speed car which worked on a lot and bought in '76.

For me it was a ride in my Uncle's new 1969 Roadrunner w/440 6 pack. It made quite an impression!

It wasnt a car - it was my dad. He always spoke highly of Corvettes. Corvettes. Corvette this. Corvette that. Corvette is the best. Then he bought an '85 in '86 - I was 6 at the time. Whilst I liked the car I always though there could be something better.

But I knew that I loved the feel of being pushed back into your seat from hard acceleration. Besides being launched off an aircraft carrier via steam, 4 wheels in the only place you can feel that.

So I was hooked at a young age. I appreciate any auto from any manufacturer. They all have a purpose in life.

Like Sieg, I was a 58 baby too and this will date me for sure.
Anyone remember the comic strip Steve Roper?
one character had a new 65ish dodge dart car and dreamed of a Superbird.
Yeah, that would be about the first car I can remember that spun my zizwheel. IN 70 I was 12. I have just never outgrown the car thingy...

I have loved this car since I was old enough to walk!

Neighbor had one when I was young. I would come home after school and drool over it!

Born in 61, I'd say Hot Wheels & Tonka, plus everyone in our neighborhood had some kind of hod rod or motorcycle. Can't really pinpoint any one type of car that got me hooked.. My parents told me my first words were "truck" Later on I'd guess it was a 69 orange & white Z/28 that really got me

I built a lot of model cars in the 60's. I think it was the glue.
