60 Corvette Rest Mod
Just getting starting to gather information for the 60 Vette project. Our plan is to convert the body to a modern type chassis & drive train. It seems like there are lots of choices...Morrison, SRII, Jameson, Street Shop etc. Any ideas or suggestions would be awesome. Thanks!

I will just throw us in the mix as well :) . We build our Fast-Track chassis for C1,C2 and the 68-72 C3's. It is available with either a traditional four-bar set up and Ford 9" or with our Fast-Track IRS. You can find some additional info here http://www.roadstershop.com/products...rvette-chassis. Feel free to contact us anytime if you have any questions at all.

Street rod Garage [SRG] and the Roadster Shop have more experience with these cars than anyone. ALL good stuff. Highly functional = SRG. Highly functional plus pretty...Roadster Shop.

I can personally vouch for Street Rod Garage. That's who's building my 72 Chevelle IRS chassis. They've been in business over 30 years and know their stuff. They don't do alot mainstream marketing. I'd say 95% of their business is word of mouth. They are a little small shop In Alabama. They usually have anywhere from 30-40 chassis's going on at a time. RS makes some beautiful chassis as well. But, if you want to save some money without sacrificing quality, Street Rod Garage won't let you down. |
I have a Car Creations chassis in my 63 with C4 suspension. It is a blast to drive! I know others that love their SRIII, street shop, etc. chassis. I would try to figure out what you want to use the car for and call them up directly and explain what you are building and get a feel for the support. Paul from Car Creations was very helpful when I called him and he is located in my state. I also had access to a donor C4 when I started the build (6 years ago), so it was a pretty easy decision for me.
Let me know if you have any questions, I'ld be happy to help. Rob |
I just started looking at chassis for a C2. Go over to Corvette Forum and go to the C1-C2 section, there are some guys there that are using different chassis. I really like the roadster shop chassis, but it is going to be out of my price range at this point. Their chassis looks awesome. SRIII motorsports, Newman car creations, Street Shop, Jamison Chassis and Corvette Corrections are the ones I have looked into. Good luck with your decision.

I will be watching this one, as my next project will be a 61.
