67 El Camino Garage Build~

Hey Everyone,
Well I thought it was finally time to start a build thread for my car. I bought this car when I was in San Diego working at best of show coach works with the intention of it being my D/D and working on it on the weekends. And thats exactly what I did until my Now wife, daughter and I picked up our things and moved to Bellingham, Wa to Run my In-Laws Paint store. That's when my time working on the car came to a halt. So In one year, we got Married, moved to WA with new jobs, bought a house, and were pregnant with my son. Wheew! Long story short My little boy is 8 months now and letting us sleep through the night so, the last week I've been dedicating 1 hr a night to the car, and I'm finally making progress again. SO I'm gonna make a point to post pictures of my progress, and to keep motivated to get the car done. The attached pic is what I started with for $1500, rusted out floors and a mangled front pass fender.

Fast forward a little while. Rupp did and install article on the car for a full CPP Suspension kit with Big Brakes and a quick ration steering box. Man what a difference from the worn out suspension and manual drum all around. Also got some 17" vintage wheelworks and new rubber for the car. Thanks Steve

Awesome car, Gordz. I also have a '67 El Camino and your car is the inspiration for my build. How much wheel back spacing were you able to get away within on the CPP kit?

Bringing this back from the Dead. So life happened and i got married and had kids, and businesses and a home to remodel. But I'm tired of work not getting done on the car so I'm trying to get one thing done a night and eventually it'll get done. I've put new floors in, cleaned and undercoated the car with raptor liner. The chassis has been blasted and painted and all new fuel and brake lines have been run. Now that the body is back in the chassis, firewall smoothed and the front end has been fitted and the whole car has been body worked and I'm ready to spray my last coat of high build primer this weekend. It been an agonizing decision but I've decided on F8 Green for color. I had an old friend Michael Castiglione do up a rendering for me and it came out great. Just scored a set like new Recaro seats as well. Also recently mounted the derale trans cooler with shroud and fan behind the front bumper on the passenger side.
