ls 5.3 Engine build
 

Just purchased an 5.3 liter engine and I need some help coming up with a parts list. I would like to keep the fuel injection and bump the hp up a lil bit. It will be going in an 86 Monte carlo ss.

swap the exhaust manifold from the left to the right and vice versa. Add a couple of small turbos. I would say your good to go.

Give us a budget and Hp goal and we could help. I have been looking at this for my 69, and lots of ways to do it.

2005 and newer LS engines have the LS2 style rods and can take around 900rwhp or so before they bend. The 2005 and older ones have LS1 style rods and beyond 550-600rwhp they will bend eventually.

Your budget will determine mods. You can build a very fast car on a decent budget if you are the one doing most of the work. :burnout:

What transmission are you running?
