DSE leaf spring. Removing leaf?
Working on a '67 Camaro that has DSE 3" drop leaf springs.
The car still sits to high IMO. Has anyone removed a leaf from these? If so, which one? I wanted to avoid running a block. |
What about altering front spring mount plate a bit to have the bolt come through a 1/2" or so higher? I think I've seen that done before. Obviously there's only a little room for the spring to come up.
I believe Savitske also told me you get a roughly 2x ride height magnification when making changes to the front spring mount. |
Mark have you let them settle or put weight in the car? Another option is de-arching them.

I could only see it getting worse if you took a leaf out. |
You could add a lowering block to the leaf spring..
It separates the leaf spring mount location from the axle, thus moving the axle up, and lowering the car. weather or not its the Ideal way to do it, I'm no expert, but I'd take that route over messing with the leaf springs themselves. http://www.speedwaymotors.com/Speedw...ocks,3353.html |
DSE said they don't recommend removing a leaf.
It's been sitting on the springs for awhile, but not with full weight. I'll give it some more time, and then probably ad a block. Thanks. |
