To all you Pro-Tourers out there. In case you did not know Mark Stielow, one of the the founders of our movement and builders of those legendary '69 Camaros is the engineering manager of the new 2014 Camaro Z28. I personally saw it on display at the 2013 New York Auto Show and it by far the best looking and the most BADAZZ of all the the 5th Gen Camaros including the mighty ZL1!!

This baby is purely a track day car with a lot of deleted and lightened stuff including have just one speaker for the door chimes and a lightend rear window. It has lot of the ZL1 goodies but no magnetic ride suspension. And it has a n/a LS7 out of the outgoing Corvette ZO6 instead of the blower equipped LSA. Promises to have better lap times than the ZL1. Check out the latest issue of Car and Driver for the first posted details.

Mark Stielow's last 2 builds total about 450,000 page views here. :)

If it's good enough for Stielow, it ought to be good enough for just about anybody. I grew up in a family of engineers (I am the black sheep) and my dad the electrical engineer overbuilds everything from structures to circuits. Clearly Mark does the same thing with his personal cars and they likely gave him a little free reign for this one. Let's be honest, this car goes against what all the bean counters would say to do.

Thanks guys. The Z/28 has been my "secret" project at work for a while. More to come this summer. It will be cool.

I heard no stick and paddle shifters?

While a traditional stick shift manual is more fun, a paddle shifted auto is faster around the track. I'd still want a traditional stick shift though if I had the money for the car. It's looking great and I can't wait to see it out being tested.

Congrats, Mark.
