Parallel or Triangulated 4-link for my daily-driven S10?
 

Hey guys, I've got a '98 S10 that I drive everyday. It has been recently swapped to an L31 5.7L v8, and I've kept the NV3500 trans (for now, until it explodes).

I enjoy a spirited drive and have full intentions of tracking it OFTEN both on road courses/drift days and straight line. Currently I get axle wrap so bad I'm at the point of shifting like my Grandma and driving the truck much less spirited than I would enjoy.

My question is, for my application, daily-driven, with the occasional track usage which is better, triangulated or parallel 4-link? I've had a previous S10 with a Suicidedoors pre-fabbed S10 specific parallel 4-link, I'm just not sure that that is the best bang for my time when it comes to actual performance.

S10...man, we used to do a TON of these trucks 10-15 years ago! We had 2 rear suspensions for them, the RoadGrater [12" drop] and the AirBar [8" drop"].
We don't do the RoadGrater anymore...that market has pretty much dried up. BUT...we still do the S10 AirBar. It is a "wishbone" design...2 lower bars that go into the oem leafspring hangers, and one upper A arm that provides both axial and lateral axle control. Does it work? Well...I was so impressed with the handling characteristics on our old S10 that I incorporated the design into my 33 Ford. Its kinda fast.

The S10 AirBar is set up for airsprings and shocks. If I were doing a truck like this, I would keep that arrangement and use our HQ series rebound adjustable shock.

OR...a set of coilovers could easily be adapted to the design.

How wide of tires can be used on the rear with the ridetech set up? im getting ready to box my frame in and was going to move my leafs inboard and notch the frame to run 315s, 335s would be nice but i think thats more work then i want to commit to.

I would run a 3 link with a watts link or panhard bar. I plan on building one for my lightning pretty soon.
