68 camaro Aeromotive EFI fuel tank and Ridetech gas cap install photos
Hello Guys
My car has been at the bodyshop since February for body work, and decided to paint the car its orginal color, which is Lemans Blue. The code is GM 71 and got the equivalent code from Dupont. I finally got the Aeromotive Fuel Tank installed as well as the Ridetech gas cap: http://i218.photobucket.com/albums/c...ps1b3cff09.jpg http://i218.photobucket.com/albums/c...psedcee75c.jpg I used the gas a cap a template for drilling the holes prior to painting the car; however, the gas cap appears to be a bit off center after the installation. |
filling her up
very nice setup.
do you have an easy time filling her up? i have the same gas cap and i can only fill it at a trickle. any more and it just burps gasoline right back out. i just bought my 68 camaro PT set up this way. it is a messy painful experience filling up, and i have to fill up often because of the narrowed gas tank to accommodate the minitubs. hmmm. i'm wondering if the gas tank is not installed correctly to release pressure when filing up, or if this is what i should expect by design. thx, randy |

I have not dirven the car yet as it is still in the shop. I would not think that the gas cap has anything to do with gas burping back up, I believe it is due to the Ricks fuel tank that you have as it is an old set from Ricks. Their new set up called Ricks tank with vaporworks technology. You will find lots of info in this forum on the tank and burping back issue. |
I'd bet it needs a vent.
