Any push button start kits or parts?

Hey guys are there any push button start kits or parts that work well with gen 1 f bodies? I am looking for something That will work for ls motors and a regular sbc or bbc. I am really just putting out feelers to see what others already have and like using. Thanks again guys, everyone has been really supportive and I really appreciate that.

I own a '68 RS/SS Camaro and installed a push button start from the below company. It works great and I get stares at all the car shows when people find out I have a push button start in a 1st gen camaro.

I ended up getting one of these from Matt's Classic Bowties. MCB usually has the best deals. I have not installed it yet though. It may be on the more expensive side but if you need a new column it is a good choice.

i have been working on a prototype with a twist. instead of just pushbutton it is a fingerprint scanner. As i coded it now, it'll read your fingerprint and then enable a push button. Then you can crank the engine by pushing the button. After the engine is done cranking then you release the button. To turn it off, you press the button one more time.

This was before i was planning an ls swap and was worried about having cold starts and need to control how long you needed to crank. With the ls i plan on monitoring the tach signal and when the engine starts up it'll disengage the starter relay. If you're interested in something like this, i can share my project with you.

I'm open for ideas about how i should program the push button should work too.

here is a vid of my prototype:

another thing you can do instead of fingerprint is to use an rfid tag for your key.
they have a sticker rfid tag that you could possibly put on the backside of your alarm key fob

or just get the keyfob rfid tag

My buddy works at a custom shop and just put the Phantom products kit in a 55 Chevy. I like that the button is a touch button not a push button. You can cycle through key positions with successive touches of the button or you can hold the brake and tap it once to start the engine. It seems like some of the kits are too complicated. If you have to push the button more than once to start the car that's just too complicated for something that's suppose to simplify the car if you ask me.

Look at http://www.gallotech.com/. I've been researching this company and am leaning towards this setup.

I installed one from this company as well. Easy to install and works great.

Boy this is waaayyy more than just a push button start system.

Besides being a proximity detector -- it can shut down other electrical functions in the car.

This sounds like an ideal security system for my car.
Nobody would even no it's there - but if they try to start the car....

I am looking at one of these too. Amazing new technology.

Thanks for the tip, Roy

finger print scanner

Hey Scott,
This finger print scanner is a really cool idea.
I would like to know more. I am sure others would too.

Are you marketing this product?
Do you need any development help?
Do you need a Beta test site ? ;)

Thanks, Roy
