Good High End DSLR Camera - for business use
 

Hi Guys,

I know we have a ton of photographers on here, so figured I would ask this question. My brother is a big artist and photographer. http://matthewlawlor.com/ and he is also getting married in about a month. I was considering getting him (I understand its not really a joint present) a nice DSLR camera to replace his broken mid-range camera. My goal would be to help him get started photographing weddings, families, cars, ect for a business. He works part time and really needs to find some extra work, so I thought this might be a good stepping stone.

Now, to do this, do you need a $5,000 - $6,000 camera, or is a $1500 - $2000 camera enough?

If anyone does this type of work, would love some advice as well.

If I had to do it over, one priority would be a full-frame sensor because of the lens selections, not image quality.

Canon's newest offering looks to be very good in respect to features and image sensor performance.

That would be my choice/suggestion. (and my wish list. LOL)

That camera AND the lens are AWESOME. Most kit's you buy (ie. the tXi series) have mediocre lenses. This has an L series, tack sharp lens on it.
