Finally......education with substance!

We just spent 2.5 hours enrolling our new high school freshman this morning and I was pretty excited to see these elective class options and my son put them all in his top priority list along with engineering and web business!

Hopefully this is a start of genuine interests in something besides computer video .

Isn't that the truth! I was genuinely envious. Hopefully he gets into the welding, machine, and metals classes and we can learn together. The kid possesses an above average IQ especially in math, but his information retention level is scary.......makes me wonder who's his Daddy. :sieg:

I haven't even factored leveraging Mom for additional shop tools in the future for her little

:unibrow:

Sieg,

What school is that? I attended Reynolds in Troutdale, a while ago, and we had some very similar courses. I was able to take 4 years of "auto shop" and 3 years of "metal shop". They were somewhat broader than those offerings but really gave me a good foundation that I have used in this hobby for the last 15 years. I remember Kids making $28/hour welding straight out of our HS program. We need more of this kind of training.

Glad to see your son interested! Even if he doesn't pursue any field in those areas(like myself) he will still have those skills forever.

Thurston High School, nationally recognized during the Kip Kinkle shooting spree.......:sieg:

I completely agree with "we need more of this" I told my son this morning of all the classes I took in junior and high school the classes I benefited the most from to this day were woodworking and automotive.

How's Pendleton doing? We have a family ranch south of Echo, mp4 on Reith Rd.

Thats awesome Sieg. Things sure have changed from when we were in school. My son is a Freshman this year also. He wants to be a mechanical Engineer and lucky for us Oak Ridge High has an engineering program. He is currently taking the prerequisit class which is CAD class.. So far so good.
The other cool thing is that he is taking Italian and came home speaking to us in Italian the other day.
Exciting times in the Cosentino houshold these days.
