Switched Gears 55
Ha Guys
I just recently joined ,We have a big block chevelle w/ a hotchkiss TVS kit on It To make a long story short .The wife and I brought our chevelle to The Syracuse Nat.With the American Street Car serice in July for some autocross action. The Instructors talked Patty into driving, now our GRASSER Project just turned into a autocross/pro tourning car The good thing is were not to far in the build to switch gears ,We allready got new floors I'ts ben mini-tubed w/leaf springs The car was set up for big block 4/speed The plan Now is 4 link rear with Tubular Arms with coil overs drop spindles,I'm still deciding on a power plant???? leave the BB/4/speed or go with a LS/ Auto???Well Thanks for letting me rant . We picked up a 2000 Ws6 w/auto to go in the 55 now just waiting on oil pan MM and headers from Williams. We decided to go the no frills,Flat black paint put the cash in motor, suspension and Brakes THE FUN STUFF I'll post some recent pics, and a few of the Chevelle

Love the story on gasser gone pro-touring. My wife got bit by the autocross bug as well at an SCCA event last year. Sounds like your 55 will be a fun car. A 70 Chevelle and 55 Chevy is a pretty sweet garage.

YEP! I never posted anything on my '56 Nomad -- even though it had a Jim Meyer chassis on coil overs -- big brakes -- fuel injected small block etc. I just never got around to it - and it was "old" relatively to the newer builds going on here… but there's nothing better than a tri-five. Glad to see you went with the LS motor BTW over the big block. The weight savings over the nose will be huge benefit if you really want to be somewhat competitive in AutoX. |
