'69 Camaro underwater 43 years with 3 bodies inside
|
Wow....very interesting story.
|
It makes you wonder did they find the cars right near each other in the lake? If so what happens to swallow the cars that no one else is around. I have seen car go into a lake just last week. It's pretty crazy. And to think 2 cars from different incidents went into the lake and all passengers were killed just seems crazy.
We were at a local lake a few weeks ago do the photoshoot for the 1970 Chevelle we are just wrapping up. And just 200 away this suburban that has 2 kids inside goes crashing into the lake as I'm waiting for the photographer to do his thing. http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...906_180209.jpg http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...906_180307.jpg The Rangers show up a little while later and says that this happens all the time. From the looks of it, the parents left the key on in the ignition for the radio to play and the kids pulled the car into neutral and away she went. SPLASH. Due to the downward slop into the lake and the fact I heard the radio on when I helped with the kids. STUPID PARENTS. http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...906_192523.jpg http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...192455_LLS.jpg The funny part is that half out to the Suburban to pull the kids out I realize I'm in this nasty pond water, its nasty and my only car to drive home in has this high dollar interior and I did not bring a towel, because I had not planned to go swimming. So now my shoes, belts, T shirt, shorts socks everything is wet. So I had to strip down to my boxers and drive the car back to the shop. Or get this high dollar interior all wet. That was a sight to see I'm sure..... |
Pretty Crazy story and just an accident that they even found them, there is a picture on another sight ..... The owner of the car is a very young kid and the car is virtually brand new. Not sure how I would handled my kids missing for 40 some years ..... At least now they wont wonder anymore.
The article I read said they dont have missing person's reports back in the 50's for the other car. Glad someone was there to help the kids in the Suburban ..... NICE Job. |

My wife forwarded this to her grandma and she said that she knows some of those people's names that were in one of those cars

I saw this too and my first thought was that at least the families would finally have some answers. The Camaro driver's parents have both passed, I cannot imagine going to the grave without knowing had happened to my kid...
My second thought was about the Camaro, it was only a few months old when it went below the waters. The police broke the Camaro in half pulling it out, the car's sheet metal is so thin they didn't need any tools to peel the roof back. http://i1339.photobucket.com/albums/...psba330d05.jpg I've seen a lot of posts about it on facebook and people wanting the car, ignoring the families loss and saying some really dumb things. I don't think there will be much left of it and how goulish are people these days?! |
I still really wonder what would make 2 cars disappear at the same lake and loose multiple lives. Kinda of a CSI case I suppose. Why couldnt they roll down the windows? Is not like they had power windows and the battery shorted out. The other early 50s car would be the same way.
Or is there some kind of road hazard that develops in certain circumstances that lead to both cars going into the lake? How did nobody see either car go into the lake or was it late at night? The fact all 8 windows on these cars are rolled up fully is really weird. The camaro has 4 roll up windows and the early chevy or dodge has 4. Just seems really weird. |
