Which wiring harness are you running ?
Looking to to order wiring harness for 69 Camaro. Looking for the most complete one. I don't want to use any portion if original.
Also who is the man when it comes to LS conversion harness. So many choices , need some feedback |
American Autowire classic update series, there the only ones that give you all the connector ends (they hold patent on some of those GM connectors) and they don't sell them outside there kits

Frank - I agree w Rod on AAW. Classic update should be perfect if you're planning on putting the fuse box in the stock location. I also like PSI conversions for the engine harness.

I've used the factory reproduction harnesses from M&H (www.wiringharness.com) which were absolutely plug and play - taped, all connectors attached, proper length for factory placement, etc. With the interior out, it took less than 4 hours to rewire the car. You can also get them with the modern blade style fuses.
I've also used the AAW Classic Update harness. Plan on spending about half of what a full M&H harness will cost you, and several days getting it installed, as there are many options, you have to install virtually all the connectors other than the bulkhead fuseblock, and wrap it if that's what you want. Most LS1 harnesses have only four connections to the car's harness. The AAW Classic Update harness probably adapts better to an LS1 (mostly because it's unwrapped and un-terminated), although it also wouldn't be too hard with the M&H. |
AAW classic update.

thanks for all the help guys

As Mike said the M&H are very nice and work great, I've used a few on restos in the past and one with a LS conversion worked perfect!! Not cheap but very easy to install!!

Another vote for AAW classic update. Just did this over the summer also on a 69 Camaro. I have little experience with wiring and was able to complete in about 4 days and everything worked!! Lol. Anyway, directions are great and gives you prewired circuits for ac, fuel pumps, radiator fans etc.
