Who here has used one? Which motor mounts did you use?

I have the Holley pan on my car. Great quality pan. I built my own engine mounts, as well as my own trans. crossmember, and mount.

Holley has a new pan now. It works much better in swaps, especially in A-bodies.

Sorry yes I am looking to use it on a first gen. I already have the old style holley pan and I am using a stock subframe. Has anyone done this? What mounts did they use. I keep finding conflicting information.

This past summer I installed a LQ4 into a 69 camaro. I used the Holley pan with the Holley engine mount swap plates. I found that using the stock location plates set the engine to far back, almost against the firewall and the pan rested on the subframe.
To fix, I ordered the .5 inch forward plates. Using the stock location plates and the .5 inch plates stacked together, I was able to raise the engine 3/8 inch so the pan cleared the crossmember. I drilled out the threading in the stock location plates so the two plates can be used together. I hope that helps. |

I used the older Holley pan with Energy Suspension 3-1117G motor mounts and Dirty Dingo sliders. My frame mounts are #3945507 and #3945508 (high performance tall & narrow '69 302/350 mounts). The pan would have rested on the subframe without the reinforcing plate that comes with the ES mounts. They act like a spacer and the extra 1/4" was just enough. The DD sliders let you move the engine forward or back a couple of inches. You need to match you engine mounts to the style of frame mounts you have (tall and narrow, or short and wide). |
What year first gen? Because the stands and mounts can be different. On my '69 Camaro for instance, I found that the 302/350 stands are lower than the 327 stands. Because of this, there are two different motor mounts. short ones for the 327 stands and taller ones for the big block and 302/350 stands. I have the newer 302-2 pan and even it hit the xmember when I used the mounts for a 327. I had to go to the narrower, taller mounts for the big block because all the autoparts stores have the wrong number crossreferenced for the 302/350.

What is the part number for the new Holley pan? :Tomcat:
