It’s headed to the body shop to begin repairing all the body panels, prep, and paint. The drip rails will be shaved and the seam between the rear quarters and the filler panel will be welded for a nice clean look. Im using the factory subframe. I sent it off to Precision Powdercoat in Houston and they gave it a nice satin black finish. I highly recommend these guys for powdercoat work. Little over $100 invested and it works like a charm. http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3784/1...29b7a3dc_b.jpg http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3789/1...a784e5e6_b.jpg Here are some teardown pics: http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7424/1...873b2f0e_b.jpg http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5547/1...152abe27_b.jpg http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3672/1...128f80b7_b.jpg http://farm3.staticflickr.com/2870/1...6a5ef177_b.jpg http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7302/1...41fff716_b.jpg http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7434/1...a1e11900_b.jpg http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7346/1...aa0ff40b_b.jpg http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7340/1...10670691_b.jpg Buddy cutting out the glass http://farm3.staticflickr.com/2892/1...33524ea3_b.jpg http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3724/1...8fa263bd_b.jpg I’ll add pics as I go. |
Nice project! Great to have your son involved!! Where does the resale Red name come into play? From the pervious owner I take it?

Resale Red actually came from a buddy of mine. He came over to check out the car, after I purchased it, and the first words out of his mouth were "Resale Red". He didn't mean it in an insulting manner at first but as we evaluated the car more, it lived up to that name. I do not want this thread to focus on the past as I've forgiven the previous owner for what he did. I'm open to all ideas for this build, so feel free to express your opinion on things. My goal is to have this car road worthy by next fall. |

Glad to see you are going forward with the car and with what looks like a lot of gusto. I hope it turns out well for you. I hope that I have (a) a son and (b) a son who wants to help me restore cars! Good luck! |
