Led bulbs for 69 RS tail lights?

I have all ready installed billet RS tail lights and was thinking upgrading bulbs for modern look as well. I noticed by quick search at there are sequential kits available - what i donīt like.

Do you recommend just led replacement bulbs or led boards? If so , what brand?

Most of the kits also have an option for standard operation.

I've tried most all of the replacement LED 1156/57 bulbs with poor results. The problem is that the replacements don't have the even lighting that a standard bulb has. Even the side firing types leave much of the lens dim. Many of the rearward firing LED's are so close to the lens that there is a dark horizon line that effectively reduces the amount of light, plus it looks weird.

The dedicated kits with a large at panel filled with rearward firing LED's give the brightest and best coverage. They are much brighter than the stock arrangement.

I tried just the bulbs as well and the stock bulbs were brighter on those types of panels...the guy displaying them said he could make those bulbs work by modifying the panels...I said no since in and bought the DigiTails version and "Very Happy" as they are very bright. yes there is a dip switch if you want the sequential look or standard....Kit was very easy to install..

Thank you Carl, i really appreciate your opinion. Have you used digi-tails? I dont want my lights "scream" leds, more like i am after as full coverage of even light as possible.
