Aircraft hardware supplier

Hey guys, I'm looking for some titanium aerospace hardware (NAS 4904-1). Anybody know of a supplier that will sell small quantities?

thanks!

Could be mistaken

Isn't this something that Larry Callahan might be able to help you out with? IF I've got my facts straight / recall correctly, I believe that he would be able to hook you up, or atleast get you heading in the right direction, as I seem to recall that this is what he's involved with professionally.

?

Paul,

Good tip. I'll drop Larry a line.

thanks!

John--

I often deal with Wesco when I need stuff at work, and they're always nice people to deal with and have a LOT of stuff in stock.

M&M Aerospace is another good outfit to deal with.

Prepare yourself though, I know at work, even though we place hundreds of orders with these and other outfits a year, every place we deal with DOES NOT hesitate to say "bend over" when we order smaller quantities. I've seen things marked up almost 20X from a small quantity order (say 10 pieces) to a larger order (say 1000 pieces).

If you want, I can look up the part number in our system at work to see if/when we have ordered them and the prices we paid.

Part number

Troy,

I'll give those guys a try if Larry can't find anything. (he's already on the job).

I need 50 of NAS4904u1 (NAS4904-1).

thanks!

Tell me what you would like it in:

Ti-6Al-4V Workhorse general purpose high strength alloy
Ti-6Al-2Sn-4Zr-2Mo (6-2-4-2) Creep and oxidation resistant engine alloy
Ti-6Al-2Sn-4Zr-6Mo (6-2-4-6) Creep and oxidation resistant engine alloy
Ti-3Al-8V-6Cr-4Zr-4Mo (Beta C) Beta alloy with established spring applications
Ti-10V-2Fe-3Al (10-2-3) Beta forging alloy used for 777 landing gear
Ti-15V-3Cr-3Sn-3Al (15-3-3-3) High strength heat treatable beta sheet alloy
Ti-3Al-2.5V Medium strength alloy used for hydraulic tubing
Ti-4Al-4Mo-2Sn (550) Higher strength heat treatable airframe and engine alloy
Ti-5.5Al-3.5Sn-3Zr-1Nb (829) Advanced engine alloy, creep and oxidation resistant
Ti-5.8Al-4Sn-3.5Zr-0.7Nb (834) Advanced engine alloy, creep and oxidation resistant
Ti-5Al-2Sn-4Mo-2Zr-4Cr (Ti 17) Advanced engine alloy, creep and oxidation resistant
Ti-15Mo-3Nb-3Al-0.2Si (21S) Oxidation and corrosion resistant beta sheet alloy

Or....

Ti-6Al-2Zr-2Sn-2Mo-2Cr-0.25Si (6.22.22) Airframe alloy for F22 and JSF projects
Ti-4.5Al-3V-2Mo-2Fe (SP 700) Competitor for Ti-6-4 for SPF and general use
....Which are of increasing importance.

Or....

Ti-2Cu (230) Heat treatable sheet alloy
Ti-4Al-4Mo-4Sn-0.5Si (551) High strength airframe alloy, very limited availability
Ti-8Al-1Mo-1V (8-1-1) Early alloy now mainly for spares and replacements
Ti-6-6-2 High strength alloy with specific earlier applications
Ti-11Sn-5Zr-2.5Al-1Mo-0.2Si (679) Earlier engine alloy rarely specified in new programmes
Ti-6Al-5Zr-0.5Mo-0.25Si (685) Engine alloy now mainly for spares and replacements
....Which tend to be less widely used but are none the less important and may be critical in their application to specific fully validated components.

I have delt with these cat's for small orders and they have always come through. I do know that crescent manufacturing will do smaller orders, but if I remember....... 1000pc is the smallest, unless you can convince them otherwise.

Is that all the info you could come up with Tom??????? I'm a little disappointed!!!!!!! ;)

I don't care about which alloy

Are you saying 4904-x bolts are available in every one of those alloys?

I don't think I care about alloy. I guess corrosion resistance is important, since I'm using it to attach trim pieces to the body. The grill pic I posted in the buildup section is attached with 4904-6. I need 4904-1s (shorter bolt: 1/16" grip rather than 3/8" grip of the -6).
