Does it seem odd that the 2 biggest media stories for Nascar last year and this year booth set pole position winning lap times at Daytona. I'm not a conspiracy theory guy but Danica last year and Austin this year with the number 3 both sitting on the pole. I understand it's a crew chiefs job to put the car on the pole at the super speedways. It just seems like the after Dale Earnhardt era has these kinds of things and it was not even thought of or needed when Dale was racing.

It just seems like Nascar has to try harder to sell Nascar after Dale was gone

I'm not into conspiracy theories either, but I am convinced that the restrictor plate on the #10 car last year was a few thousandths larger than the rest of the field. It's a simple way to generate publicity. I just wish she would do Playboy, get her 15 minutes of fame over with and get the hell out. I can't believe the idoiots that walk around wearing Danica shirts and hats, especially the 40 year old guys. :hairpullout:

And qualifying at Daytona means nothing as you need to come from the back in the draft to win the deal any way. Just seemed odd Austin was on the pole the year following Danica.

This is why I have zero intrest in Nascar anymore!

They think press will make people watch it. Only good competition will make people watch it. And Jimmy Johnson has ruined that. Or every one that cannot win as much as he has has ruined it. This new chase format is lame.
