Altenator Question

Quick question for the electrical experts..... I have an LS1 with a Vintage air front runner set-up. The altenator they send you (140 amp Tuff Stuff) Has a lug for the hook-up to the battery and a ground. It (the altenator)does not have a spot to hook up the small red one-wire lead on my PSI harness that would normally go to the altenator. Can I eliminate this wire without causing any problem with the ECM??

Thanks in advance

I have eliminated it on three different cars I have done but I had a GM harness which probaly would not matter.

Tubbed69, thanks for the info.....not sure what this wire is supposed to do?? By the way, your car rocks!

It turns the alternator on and off, that way the computer can control when the alternator is charging. Probably makes a small difference in fuel consumption. The computer will throw a code, but it can be either turned off in the tune, or just ignored since it won't actually turn on the MIL.
