Clean my LS Block
Looking for some help. I have an '06 LS 2 that's going into my '69 Camaro. It needs some cleaning and I am looking for what the best way to clean the aluminum Block & Heads is. I am not planning on painting the block, just want to leave it bare aluminum but looking good.
Any suggestions??? Thanks, David:hello: |
scrub it down with some hot water and dawn then scrub again with your favorite wheel cleaner. The safe for polished wheel foam stuff works great. Buy a few good brushes.

Thanks Vince, did one side last night and worked great!

Raw aluminum looks awesome, but it never stays that way. We like to shoot the aluminum parts with Eastwood's Ceramic Engine Paint... it is really nice stuff. We personally tested a piece painted with it to over 550 degrees with no change of color or sheen. Here, you see the LSA from "Lou's Change" has been shot with the silver to appear like aluminum in color, but it won't oxidize. The supercharger hat has been powdercoated in wrinkle black, and the DSE subframe is bathed in satin black Imron over epoxy.

That looks great Kevin...I may try that. Thanks a bunch!
