Billet Skid/Jack Please!!!!!!!!!
Here is an idea that I would love to see in production. Most GM cars F-body, Vette, etc. suffer from the notorious dented in engine cross member from being jacked in the wrong spot one too many times. The problem is, this is a great quick and easy spot to slap your jack and get the car up quick.
Repairing this in the car is a pain requiring cutting, welding, grinding, and fitting a new lower skin in there only to risk a future cave in upon jacking, not to mention all the scratches that get on the powder coat or POR 15 finish. So...how about making a simple neat and clean rugged thick aluminum plate to attach to the bottom of the cross member regardless if it is already dented in or not to serve as a cover for the prior crused surface, prevent future crushing, and look good all at the same time. It would need some kind of diamond plate or cross hatch surface as a pure polished surface would get scratech too easily. I really need this for my 69 Camaro!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
