Radiator and Fan Choice for Value (Cheap!)
Would it be an option to use my like new, OEM style '69 Camaro radiator and just add electric fans to it?
Or is the best value still a 4th Gen F-Body radiator and fans for a 69 Camaro ls1 swap? I've searched the forum and found an older thread or two on using it and I didn't hear any complaints. I'd definitely like some further info on how the installs went for those that use this combination. Is there an older one that has a single fan and a newer with duals? Also, are my radiator hose locations going to be different because my LS1 came out of an '04 GTO? Should I be looking at a GTO radiator and fans instead? Where's the best place to pick up a new unit, complete with fans, on the cheap? Lastly, if there are any other suggestions on what I should go with that are in a similar price range to the stock f-body/gto unit, let me know. Thanks! |

Check out Superior radiator located in Mt.Clemens Michigan. They are all welded aluminum. They have both hoses on one side along with a steam port. The radiators are like $350-$450 range and to add the dual fans is another $250. They have a 2 year warranty. I will be picking one up for my 70 lemans.

I gave them a call and that doesn't sound like a bad deal. Twin fan for $550. I'm cheap but this seems to be a really good value for something that bolts right in. This may be a case where my cheapness is overwhelmed by something of quality construction and less hassle. Thanks a lot for the heads up on that. |
They were at the Detroit autorama but I wasn't able to go this year. My buddy came across them while browsing. He said they looked like a nice piece.

Check out the Griffin LS Combo units, good bang for the buck. MCB is a good source for them, ended up going with one for my Nova
