68 Camaro, RideTech front & rear suspension. Looking for C5 options...
I have a 68 Camaro that im "Resto-Modding". Im installing complete RideTech suspension, front and rear. Im doing the 2" drop spindles on the front with RideTech "Strong Arms" control arms and Coil-Overs. In the Rear im running the RideTech 4 link/Air Bar with Coil-Overs and DSE mini-tubs. I plan on running either 17"-18 rims and around 335's on the rear, and 275's or so on the front.
So my question is, for those of you that are "basically" running this set-up in a 67-69 Camaro. What Manufacturers C5/C6 style conversions are you running and what information or feedback can you offer. I already have a basic disc brake conversion, but I'd really like to upgrade to a 4 wheel disc C5/C6 system if possible. I imagine the only thing I can possibly retain from that system is maybe the brake lines at best. For me, price IS always an issue ,so im not after an ultra high-end or overly expensive kits. Im just looking for a "totally complete", no nonsense, solid performing, dependable kit that works... without costing me more than it should. |

Kore3 all the way! I have their C6 kit front and rear on my 73 camaro. Took about 2 days to install and that's cause I needed to have the stock spindle machined. Very easy kit with everything included. I didn't have to search for one thing except for master cylinder which I got off a 2000 camaro with the fitting I needed. Stops great and looks awesome!
I'll be going with their ZO6 kit for my 68 firebird in the future. |
Call Tobin at KORE3

Ya.. I did some research, I called Kore3, and talked with Tobin. A really good guy and knowledgeable. I'll be getting the C5 "short spindle' kit, and using my stock drum brake hubs.
I really want to have a park brake and initially intended to use LS1 rear brakes, but those backing plates are being fazed out by GM. I may just keep my drum rears/ park brake assy. for the short term as discussed with Tobin. I can always decide later what im going to do for a rear brake/park assy.:headspin: p.s. what are you guys doing for park brake options? |
I have the 2x4 mod under the rear tire. Lol!
But I have a 700r4 so that holds the car in place pretty good. |
