Pro-Touring Little Deuce Coupe
4 Attachment(s)
Here's a few pictures of my 32 3 window coupe which I have always wanted since I was 16 years old when I let one slip thru my fingers because I hesitated on paying $100 for a complete original with all the fenders, etc (1962.....still dream about that moment). Anyway fast forward to today as I finally pulled the trigger on buying one that was build by a professional shop in SF but never finished. It was running and licensed in Ca. but needed to be blown apart to be painted, upholstered, etc. It had a nice 350 SB with a 700R4 and being a Car Crazy Pro-Touring enthusiast, I replaced that drive train with a 2001 Camaro LS1/700R4. It has TCI all stainless front independent susp and the rear is an early Jaguar. It really rides well and drives excellent with the rack n pinion steering. I just enjoy driving it now but will have to eventually tear it down to be painted and finish the upholstery. Notice...I had to go with the 17/20 wheel tire combo as I'm really into larger rims. Today the trend is make them look like they did in the 50's/60's but I actually lived that time frame and remember how bad the steering/susp was at that time so hence I have give it a little pro-touring look and LS1 drive train! It's taken me 2 years to get to this point as I still spend time working on my 55 Chevy and 69 Camaro pro touring project.

Looks like a real fun little car, love the idea of a PT rod.
Mine's not PT but a bit similar in - TCI front, jag rear, 17's & 20's. As soon as i bought my coupe, the Nova came off the road and onto the rotisserie for a full dose of PT lovin'. Attachment 47844 Have you decided on a colour yet or just drive it until the colour comes to you? |
Both of yáll's coupes look great! Good luck with the build as you progress. Do you have any pics of the 55 and the 69?
