Ridetech coilovers and Tru Turn with stock arms

Happy Saturday to you all. I've read a lot of a threads on here, but I decided to finally join up so I could ask this question.

I'm restoring a subframe from a 1968 Camaro currently. I have it all disassembled and the subframe is coming back from sandblasting in a few days. I've decided on using Ridetech's Tru Turn with their 1.75 drop spindles and adjustable coil overs. Does anyone know if this will work with the stock upper and lower control arms? I read ridetechs website, and they say it may work but they wouldn't guarantee it. Does anyone else have a similar setup? I'd like to go with ridetechs upper and lower arms, but it's not in the budget right now with engine build going at the same time.

My goal is a 3 inch drop in the front. I want to be able to drive the car not as my daily driver, but as a fun weekend car I can take on road trips.

Any info would be very much appreciated!

All I will say is I would not run the ride tech coil overs on stock lower arms. They will not hold up and might break.

I run the tru turn with stock upper and lowers on my 72 nova nut I have hotchkis 2in drop springs with a 3/4in spacer to offset the drop spindle. Im looking for any sec hand control arms right now.

With that said it will work but its not completly correct. The steering stops do not line up and that can cause issues. If you do a search you will find a couple people that run the tru turn a couple ways and they all seam to have some sort of an issue. To make it right run the entire package.

Its nice running a 275 on the front of these cars though :flag2:

Your going to have to beef up the lower mounting area. If you can displace the weight across the arm you should be fine. I ran coil overs on a stock nova sub and I had no issues. That was with a 550 lbs spring and a fairly light weight car.

Jeff Tate over at PT.com had this write up- http://www.pro-touring.com/threads/8...urn+stock+arms

The big issue no one has yet hit on is that the space between the shock mounts for the OE control arms compared to our Ridetech arms. Typically the OE mounts are too short. . .which is why we drop the lower mount in our control arm. This provides the appropriate stroke for the shock.
