Anyone have a leaky Baer Pro Plus caliper?

I don't need one---I have one. Left Front. I had hoped it was just the bleeder, no dice. Looks like it is coming from the seals around the pistons.

I've never rebuilt a brake caliper before---hard to believe it would be needed since they've only seen maybe 5 track days and lots of small autocrosses.

Anyways, anyone out there done this yet, or do they need to go back to Baer?

Lack of use can compromise parts, especially seals, more the frequent use.

Contrary to the trend, trick parts are intended to be used. :D

Piece of cake buddy. Order the seals. Use compressed air in the brake hose orfice and blow the pistons out in to a rag. Clean, replace seals, lube with brake fluid, and install pistons and dust seals if applicable.

While it's apart, check the pistons and bores to make sure they are concentric. I seem to remember this being a problem.

Car is driven every week---up to 60 miles on average so it's not from sitting.

Thanks brother--will order them up and replace them then. It's great you are still around.

Todd's right on the money

Hope it just seals and not caliper bores.

make sure you wear safety glasses and a face shield. brake fluid can burn your eyes and soft parts. plus it taste like crap.

It's easy, just do what Todd said. Try and get as much brake fluid out of the calipar before you remove the pistons, Or it makes a big mess when using air
