GM Performance '88 Monte Carlo
I'm not sure if anybody has seen this build, but I had an email today about GM Performance building a Pro-Touring '88 Monte Carlo that's going to be on the Power Tour. It looks like a pretty cool build, look forward to seeing it on the tour. http://www.chevrolet.com/performance...14_14143565420

Not sure why they have a t-top car. They are heavier and less rigid, other than that it looks sweet!

Cool it's finally done. It was at SEMA on display in the GM area as just a rolling chassis. They've been working on it for over a year now and the project was almost axed at one point.
We built a set of 19" RAD 10 Club Sport wheels with our Laguna Gray powder coated centers. The outer rims are brushed with a low gloss clear coat. |

Good looking car. Hopefully, more pictures will get posted once it debuts. |
It is a super clean build - Everything looks factory "cleaner"

I have bad memories from high school. I would go down a hill and here comes a river of water leaking through lol. Im a nerd for making them as light as possible, im not even a fan of sunroofs but thats just my preference. |
When I daily drove the TA, I carried towels with me to put on the seats when parked to catch the water. Going down the road wasn't a problem though. My 96 Formula was similar but the leaks filled up the back seat area. I love them but I do not recommend them unless the car can stay inside and not be taken out in the rain.

I had an '86 Grand Prix and an '86 442, both with factory T-Tops. Neither leaked a drop. Drove them in all manner of weather, and never had a problem.
As far as I know my uncle's '83 Trans Am and my sister's '8? IROC never leaked a drop either. Maybe we all did something wrong? |
It was on the powertour at the gm performance booth. Very nice ride, had a t56 ls3 looked really good.
