I'm a Big Steve McQueen & Paul Newman fan and I have a picture file of both of them.

Paul Newman was a Super Cool Guy in person. We shared the same Birthday (Jan 26th). He used to race the 24 Hours of Daytona every year and the 1st Time I met him was on our Birthday and I wished a HB and told him we shared the day. Everytime I talked to him after that he remembered and he emailed me on my Birthday

I used to have one of McQueen's Helmets - I got a lot in Trade for it

Very cool story TC.

Just saw him in the understated 'Absence of malice' recently.

The guy was deservedly the biggest movie star in the world for awhile.

Both class acts IMO.
i have a friend who starred in a movie with Steve M (the Reiver's circa '69) and Steve was the costar. My friend Mitch was nominated for a Golden Globe for his leading role. He and Steve remained friends til Steves passing in '80. When they were filming the movie, Steve bought Mitch a i beleive Elsinore 125 (as Mitch was 12 or 13 at the time) and used to go riding with Chad (Steves son) when they were filming. Mitch still has the bike, and even cooler, Steve had it engraved and pinstriped by Von Dutch and gave it to Mitch on his birthday......

Also a Cool Story! The Auction where I picked up the McQueen Helmet, they had 2 or 3 of his Motorcycles - Big Money.

I've met Chad McQueen a couple of times. I have one of those Jackets that look like McQueen's Uniform in the Movie LeMans, I had it customized with Michael Delaney (McQueen's character in the Film) and added the Correct Gulf & Heuer Patches. I asked Chad to Autograph on the back - he was kind of taken back that I asked him to sign it, but he gladly did. Unfortunately I can't wear it because it's white, and I don't want it to get dirty & have to be cleaned - his signature might come off

Look for a Paul Newman documentary about his career in racing coming soon. It covers his life in racing including LeMans. Adam Carolla is directing and narrating. Don't forget to buy a bottle of Mangria to go with it.
