Leather "D" Shaped Steering Wheel That's Reasonably Priced?
Besides Momo and some of the more expensive alternatives what is out there?
I'm looking for around 14" for my 69 Camaro, and since I don't have tilt yet, I'd like a D shaped wheel. That should give me about 2" more clearance than the stocker so I can get my legs under the wheel easier. I'd rather have the D than go smaller yet in diameter as I have a quick ratio 3rd gen box. I'd like to stick under $200 if possible and have a working horn. This is probably where everyone tells me I'm nuts if I think I can find one cheap. :peepwall: |
Ooh, I just found one that I MIGHT like....

grant you should be able to order from your local oreillys and view it in person. Personally I think the diameter is too small but since your looking for a 14", it may work for you.

Yeah, I'd rather just go a wee bit smaller but the options are a bit limited when looking for a D shaped wheel. |
The difference in feel between a 14" and 15" is huge, especially without power steering. I had a 14" on my 67 Nova SS with heidt's front end and did not like it until I changed to a 15", that was even after I changed it over to power steering, but every vehicle will feel different. You may have to compromise size to get a "D" wheel.

My car came with a D shaped Sparco 330mm and I switched to a round 350mm Sparco and loved the change. Didn't expect it to feel so much different but it does/did. For me a 15" would be too big but to each his own. |
