68 Camaro (Project Panther)

New to Lateral G and have already had some great responses. I'm going the "pro touring" route with my 68 SS/RS Camaro that I have owned since highschool (graduated in 81). The car is completely stripped and the body is sitting on a body dolly awaiting install of the DSE mini Tubs, the HTH Truckarm rear suspension, DSE's firewall fill plate and Wayne Due's C5 subframe. I'm hoping to have a stop steer and roll chasis completed by the end of July. I've decided to go with (for now) a 6.0 litre LS1 with Z06 intake, heads etc. etc. and a set of Wes King heads all of which have registered 539hp on the dyno. I'm still on the fence about going with an automatic paddle shift setup or a 6 speed. I'm leaning toward a 6 speed but welcome your comments based on your experiences.

I'll begin posting some pics as things progress.

Thanks,

Mike (Gr8t68)

Hi Mike,

Nice car you have there  What are you running for an oil pan? It kinda looks like a corvette one. We have LSX pans for the first gens in case you are looking for something in the future. Keep us posted with progress pics. :D

Mike, great start and welcome to the site. I would rather have a 5 or 6 speed as a IMHO, but it's up to the person who own's the car. Good looking motor as well.

I saw the orange block and my jaw dropped...then I realized the 6.0 is the iron block. lol. Looks like you are off to a great start. Can't wait to see this thing come together

Thanks for your encouragment and support. It's good knowing that if I run into any issues that all of you are out there who have "been there, done that"
