69 Mach 1 Build
 

Hello all, just wanted to share the progress of a Mach 1 mustang that we are restoring. Hope you guys and gals enjoy the pictures! Well here are some pics of right after we got the body back from the strip shop. Sweet! I really like the 69 fastback Mustangs. What are the plans?

Well first it will be getting all new sheet metal.
This is a protouring build.

390 block punch to 450
4 speed manual
wilwood brakes
flaming river steering column and power rack
global west suspension

Nice choice staying with an old school Ford. Will it get EFI? Why not run at least a 5 speed tranny for better highway cruising? Good luck!

Look forward to seeing this come together. Not sure why more people do not build Mach 1's. I think they are one of the nicer looking cars Ford ever produced.

No it will be naturally aspirated, no EFI. We have a fourspeed here for the build but thats not to say that we arent keeping our options open. Thanks for the suggestion. Here is some progress on the floor and qtrs.

Pictures after lots of metal work and on to final assembly before pulling apart and painting

69 & 70 are my favorite years of Mustangs. Looks like the metal work is coming along nicely. Thank god for the aftermarket sheet metal that is available today. I know it takes allot to make it fit but it is saving many cars that would normally be scrapped.:)
