Knowledge bomb needed for 71' chevelle

Good after noon Gents! I was lucky to find such a kick @ss site as this one with such a large following and viewing I figured Ive come to the right place. Long story short im looking for ANY feedback regarding SSBC on a first hand basis with a chevelle (preferably 70-71-72). I was lucky enough to find a good car that Id like to slowly work towards a solid daily driver with some sexy pro-touring/grand touring?.

My preference of course is the Kore setup but the shop Ive found in San Antonio (Tim Duncan's Black Jack Speed Shop) only carries SSBC in my price range, and not as familiar with the Kore popularity and success. For my price range and driving needs, maybe a track one day...but for now something that works well with 18 and 19in wheels under say...1500$ where I also have budgeted more for wheels and tires.

Suggestions and experience would be greatly welcomed to a first time buyer with next to zero car experience. If you also have a known reputable, solid, and fair shop in San Antonio area, that would be great. Thanks!!!:confused18:

SSBC's quality isn't the best quality. We just got a defective master cylinder as a part of a kit from them a couple weeks ago. We've had issues with them years ago, too.
I personally haven't used Kore3 but seeing all the feedback on here and PT, I would feel comfortable recommending their products.

Was going to state the same thing last night but was too lazy to type lmao, kore stuff is great and you can use GM stuff which me personally I love that idea. If there is ever a problem I would like to believe that the parts would be a little more readily available ( ssbc might use GM stuff too not totally sure was never impressed enough to look into it) good luck I have a 70 SS so if there is anything you need help with feel free to ask

Kore, Wilwood and Baer all have great kits in a wide range of options. Kore 3 kits are great bang for the buck and using OE parts, which in most cases you'll be able to get pads, rotors and bearings easily at you local parts store.

Wheel fitment options will depend on budget. Custom 3-piece, we've been building a 9.5X18/19 front and 10.5X18/19 rear for no body work modifications. Personally I prefer a 19" rear as the wheel well is huge and a taller tire around the 27" diameter mark.

Here's a few pics. Good Luck!

After a couple months of patiently waiting and putting this aside I hope to have my car back from the shop. Front and rear springs replaced with Hotchkis, headers from Hooker, new cam, resurfaced heads and springs. Custom x pipe and exhaust work. Planning on the stage 2 sc&c upper A arm and of course Kore3's c6 brake kit before mocking up for wheels and tires. The excitement is at a 10 to say the least! Any other suggestions from yall would be great!
