Feel Like Seeing 345-20's Under A '69?
Hope this will work...
http://www.racingjunkrides.com/view_ride/319/ (you'll need to click under the main pic "view images") I managed to work on the car during the week-end (at last) I tought about selling the whole deal....(i have all new body panels and a lot of stuff piled up in boxes but NO time) But with the tires under it now, ITS STAYIN! Hope you enjoy. I do! :D Lead. |
thats awesome. will a mini tub cover that? how wide does the rim have to be to fit that?
|
I've been told it "Might" clear...(DSE could not promise) 'Guess we'll see in rebuild phase!
I've seen other cars running 345's but in 18" and other cars running 20's are also full on customs so no ref here. I saw many cars with 12" rims (345's) but to me you need a 13", 13.5" rim to get it right or else the tire bulges on the outside like a slick. I prefer them @ la sportscar...As this is what it is! (not just yet!) Lead. |
Damn, that's a lot of tire. :D

From those pics no way it will fit with the frame rails in the stock location. But with no floor in the car hell you can make anything fit! Can't wait to see it.

Perhaps a Maxi-Tub? ;) It sure would look sweet. tyoneal |
Looks good!! I'd back half that thing and do a full tub job so you can get that thing sitting low with the tire tucked!!

AWR68,
I agree it would be the way to go...But i have 2 little girls!(1-1/2 and 3-1/2 years old) I sold my Pro-Street '67 just for that reason, its fun to have a nice car but having to ride in it alone all the time gets boring in the end. I need something a bit more practical! I'm considering the complete 21st Century kit (medium tub kit) as it would do a clean job with the trunk panel and all and it is also made to fit their rails. I like air ride for its versatility vs the time taking coil overs (adjustments) and for what i intend to do with it its should be ok. I sent an e-mail to ART last night about their air bar, it looks neat but i i'll have to modify it to fit (bummer- at 2K it kinds of hurt to cut a perfect piece) and i'm also worried about the leaf mount having to be moved in to clear (creating bind???) and the shock mount(lower air shock) to rim/ tire clearance. The rails will in fact permit clearing most any size you can come up with, i just have to decide on suspension details and finishing of sheetmetal now. Thanks for the positive comments guys! Its fuel to keep up the work as you probably all know... Lead. |
Those tires are huge!! Quarters looks pretty good. Just a little bondo to fix them right up! :D Keep up the good work..
