Project Sick7... LS3 416 '67 Nova SS
I haven't been a member for too long, but I felt like I should share my current project. I'm going to post the steps I have already done and then keep posting as I do more.
The car is an older restoration and has gone through some changes since I've owned it. The car had all stock suspension and a mild 350ci with a TH350 trans. It's not a high dollar build compared to a lot of cars on here, although, my wallet thinks otherwise lol Some of you may recognize the car from instagram because I run a car page on there called ModernDayHotRods 1967 Nova SS "Sick7" -TCI pro-touring front clip with RideTech adj. coilovers, drop spindles, Wilwood brakes with 12" drilled/slotted rotors. ***The rear suspension is my next project. Looking at TCI torque arm rear suspension*** -Ford 9" with 4.11 gears -Engine built by Mullenix Racing Engines located in Simi Valley, Ca (everything is brand new) LS3 416ci stroker (4.070" bore x 4" stroke), 255 71cc CNC Ported Heads, Custom Grind Lunati Cam with .650 lift, Lunati H-Beam Forged Rods, Lunati Forged Crank, Ross Forged Pistons, LS3 Intake, Holley 90mm Cable Throttle Body, Holley Fuel Rails, TCI Headers, Holley Valve Covers, LS7 Lifters, Melling Oil Pump, F-body Oil Pan, 42 lb. Injectors, Corvette Water Pump & Balancer, and Truck Alternator. Lokar Throttle Cable, Lokar dipstick, PSI Conversion Harness and 12200411 PCM. -Trans built locally by Randy's Transmission out of Grantsville,Utah: Built 4L60E with Sonnax Smart Tech Input Drum, Sonnax 300mm Input shaft, Transgo full race shift kit, Sun Shell (the beast), 5 gear rear planet. Lokar Trans dipstick. -Fuel System: 20 gallon Rhodes Race Cars aluminum fuel cell with sump and baffle around sump. Rear suspension upgrade with mini tubs and rear disc brakes*** COMING IN THE LATE FUTURE: Repaint and new wheels all around.*** Beginning of the tear down. http://i1372.photobucket.com/albums/...ps3ee4a45e.jpg TCI pro-touring front Clip painted with por15 chassis paint and installed. Firewall is painted black to match. http://i1372.photobucket.com/albums/...psaf5f8685.jpg Engine being built. http://i1372.photobucket.com/albums/...ps16f66313.jpg http://i1372.photobucket.com/albums/...ps43fd3555.jpg Engine is complete and shipped. The excitement starts. http://i1372.photobucket.com/albums/...psfbff1025.jpg Engine and Trans are mated and put in. http://i1372.photobucket.com/albums/...psfa1cebd3.jpg http://i1372.photobucket.com/albums/...psaf902e68.jpg Radiator support installed with other items. Short Ram air intake mock up. http://i1372.photobucket.com/albums/...pse92b1606.jpg Short ram air intake painted and along with inner fenders installed. http://i1372.photobucket.com/albums/...ps6c958814.jpg Car is now pretty much complete and ready for the dyno. I decided to do a cold air intake instead of a short ram to reduce the engine sucking in hot air from the bay. http://i1372.photobucket.com/albums/...psomygu3it.jpg Now the REAL fun begins. http://i1372.photobucket.com/albums/...pswrs9eaak.jpg Video of the dyno run: http://youtu.be/ljKt3orNSRI The first time I drove it since all the work... One word to describe the feeling... Rewarding. http://i1372.photobucket.com/albums/...pst4umz0yl.jpg She even saw some rain.. It's a street car and built to be driven.. http://i1372.photobucket.com/albums/...psc221bc87.jpg http://i1372.photobucket.com/albums/...ps128aeee9.jpg http://i1372.photobucket.com/albums/...pse1fb277e.jpg Video of it driving: http://youtu.be/ofWujgmQDhg More to come as the project progresses. |
Sweet car. I bet it flys with that motor!

Looks great! How do you like the suspension?
What did you source the air intake ducting? |
Looks like a fun project dude. Nice upgrades, can't wait to see more.
Did you buy a kit for the cold air intake or did you make that one? |

I haven't got to fully test out the suspension, but driving it is way better than stock. I'll be taking it out this weekend and get more pics and vids. It's a beast! |
