Need some opinions on 69 Chevelle Dash Layout
Hi guys,
Currently looks like this (except different wheel and seats) - http://i200.photobucket.com/albums/a...psd7f1be11.jpg I bought this - https://farm4.staticflickr.com/3939/...f269edf0_c.jpg Its not really carbon fiber - and I don't like to make things LOOK like carbon fiber if they are not really carbon fiber. I could leave it. I could paint it. I could wrap it with something - I have some suede material that would match my seat inserts and I have some dash material left. But not sure how that would look. Maybe paint it Satin Black? Also, at a loss as to what I would like to do with gauges. I like this - http://www.dakotadigital.com/cartimages/prd_zm_919.jpg or these - http://www.speedhut.com/kit/GR4-258-...PM-Shift-light Or maybe there is something way cooler out there that I don't even know about? There is no OBDII on this car (yet) so carputers are out. I was also thinking about doing a push button start and a pair of toggles for fuel pump and ignition on the right side of the new panel next to where the gauges would go. What do you guys think? Please note - the original gauge carrier is being held on by 2 screws. Anyone with this style carrier knows how weak they are. So I cant reuse that. Im currently leaning towards painting the carrier satin black with Speedhut gauges. Im thinking the speedhut gauges have black bezels and black faces with white lettering. And I like to get an Ididit black aluminum column with a new black aluminum wheels. Seems like a lot of black but I think the little splashes of aluminum trim and the silver glove box area will break it up just right. Just looking to brainstorm other possible ideas. Thanks! |
