Which Ac Cobra body kit?
Hey all,
I've customer how wants us to build him a Cobra to play with. Sence his Ford GT is too expensive for that. To get ir registered we cant do full build, we need to use some frame with local title. We can modified the frame but can't use repro Cobra frame or one off tube frame. Engine will be sbf, or even Coyote. Still a Ford. Manual trans ofcourse. Opinions, please... E.R.A Factory Five Else, who and why? |

These guys make a really good body and chassis. They can set it up any way you want it. They are a great bunch of guys that build a quality product. |
This seems to be the best route from what you describe. You can get one turn key, but most will get a roller and put their own motor and trans in the car. They come with a title and VIN.

I would think that you could find a Used One or Partially Done Project for pennies on the Dollar

I have a buddy that has built several Kirkham aluminum body Cobras. He prefers them over the other brands he has built.

There is a factory 5 forum a lot of information and cars there.

This is the largest AC Cobra forum I've found, and they have separate forums for nearly all manufacturers. Good place to get info.

A lot of places to look into.
Thanks, guys. My first thought was Kirkham aluminium body, they look awesom when polished. Remeber reading an article that those bodies are made in Europe by hand. Maeby bit too expensive for racing and drifting toy to mess it. The Weineck Cobra- 780 big block, would love to drive that. Saw a trst drive in Grid, German car tvshow. Thats just sick. The main pronöem is that in here we cant use the frame that comes with the kit. We need to use something that already has local title. Usually our Cobras are made to either German Ford V6 chassic or some hackjob 80's Malibu if you want to have V8. And then the main rule is power to weight: 7Kg(15lbs) / 1Kw. |
