Chassis questions for 56 Chevy
1 Attachment(s)
I've got a 56 Chevy 210 post that I am about to embark on the next round of improvements on. I've decided to do more AutoX and Track day events with the car and want to shore up the chassis. I am committed to the original frame given what has already been invested in suspension components and their lack of compatibility with any aftermarket frames.
Top of the list is a TKO 5 speed conversion. I am looking at strengthening the frame with an Art Morisson Center Frame Kit and 2x4 Crossmember. Will this make a noticeable difference? Would a rollbar make a major difference? The car will be mostly street driven and complete 8-10 track days per year. I need to keep the backseats intact in order to keep the kids included in the fun. I had RPL Customs in Rowlett, TX do the initial work about 3 yrs ago. Here's what we've done so far: Ridetech Coilover System Level 1 on original frame - Strong arm control arms up front - 4 link in rear - Musclebar - Single adjustable coilovers Currie 9" with 3.55 gears CPP Drop Spindles CPP Big Brake kit - 4 wheel discs Power steering, brakes and vintage air 383 SBC with 700r4 Let me know of ideas to help readying this for track work. |
