LS7 Intake
Hey Guys,
Got a question/opinions for you all. I have a 63 impala convertiable in the shop with an LS-7 in it on an Art Morrison chassis. Motor and trans are already set in place (was installed before it came to us).The customer wants to put an I.T.B. intake on it under the stock hood (tight) no cowl or hood mods. He likes the HARROP set-up and it seems to be a proven peace at a decent price for an I.T.B. that is pretty low profile (which we need). What are your guys opinions thoughts and if there is a better style lower height intake out there? Thanks Mark |
Greg from AUS has one of these on his motor... I don't think it's much taller than a Harrop.
http://www.ozmoengineering.com I'm not all that knowledgeable on this subject but a '63 Impala drop top doesn't sound like a track car, so I would convince him to keep the stock intake for driveability. |
I've got this on my LS7, they aren't too low. needed a cowl hood to fit under my Mustang.

Thanks for the website on the Ozmo Quote:
He wants the I.T.B and no cowl... They get what they want until you show them it won't fit! Bitchen looking intake !! |
ITB intakes are a sob to tune, the low speed drivability is not great either, the extremely short runners on the Harrop are going to make that worse since it will hurt torque down low.
Does he want cool looking or does he want it fun to drive? Have you considered the new MSD Air Force intake? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t7ils9Ir7EM |
