65 Mustang-Ridetech 4 link with DSE mini tubs

I'm about to start on a friend's 65 Mustang fastback. The car will have DSE tubs and Ridetech 4 link. I looked up the instructions for both kits, and it looks like the Ridetech set up uses the stock frame rails, while the DSE tubs require narrowing the stock frame rails.

Question: will Ridetech 4 link work with DSE mini tubs? It looks like the airbar will need to be narrowed to match with the new DSE frame rail.

Thoughts/comments?

I think you're right on the money Tu. It looks like the straight bar will need to be narrowed at least back to the angled supports.

Yeah. Hopefully someone from Ridetech can chime in. Since he already ordered the DSE/Ridetech parts, I'm wondering if Ridetech can narrow the airbar, based on the measurements from me?

You will need to narrow it up yourself. Should not be to hard.

Smitty is correct, the rear shock mount would have to be narrowed to fit the narrower inner width and to match the new angles of the rails.

The inside of the frame rails, where the RideTech crossmember bolts in, doesn't move. You are narrowing the frame rails themselves, as in they were 2" wide before and now they are 1" wide.

You may be wasting your time narrowing the rails with that 4link. The lower bar will be the limiting factor in getting more tire under the car, not the wheel tub. You could leave the frame rails alone and a 295 might clear the lower bar with only a 2" deeper tub instead of the full 3".

I'm installing the DSE minitubs, and the instructions call for removing the stock frame rails and weld in the new rails, which in turn changes the interior width between the rails.

So I can either modify the Ridetech cradle, or narrow/reinforce the stock frame rails (which CJ Pony did to their 65 fastback SEMA car). CJ Ponny also moved the lower bar mounting points inward as well.

Got it, forgot about the new rails part. I even went and looked at my mustang and was still thinking Camaro........

Any suggestions on different rear 4 link to take advantage of the tubs?

DSE? You can come and see mine if you want, you're not far.
