69 camaro hideaway headlight fitment?

Here is another post on the headlight project, I am using the dse kit and a gm grille. I installed the headlight buckets and it seems that the doors are a little high, Then don't touch on the top of grille but are close when I close the doors or turn lights to off position. I had to install brackets to the fenders and I lined them up perfectly with the factory holes in the fender. I took and drilled out the core support some to move them down but does not seem to make that much difference. I am thinking that the fender brackets are still holding the lights up towards top of fender, Just curious if anyone has had issues with this. My only idea is to cut the tabs off the brackets on the fender and move them down aprox 1/4". Any suggestions would be appreciated
Thanks Travis

I had to slot the core support bolt holes and the fender bracket a little. All I can say is shim and slot this and that until they fit. Also make sure all of the screws and bolts are in that hold the grille in place.
Hope this helps
