Thinking of Quadra-Linking while I'm in there
After seeing Fuel, OHCbird, and some of the other cars on the P/T, Talking to Jason about the ride quality of DSE's product, I thought that leaf spring cars rode kinda rough, and that GM 4 link style rode better, Gramps 68 442, my 68 Impala, buddy's GTO and Skylark,
I'm at a crossroad, I'm getting ready to do the minitub and have all the DSE parts set up, in the car, just ready to powdercoat the rear housing and assemble, but if I get the idea to do this later I'm going to be tearing things out, and right now I'm at the tubs, shock crossmember and subframe connector phase, During the P/T, I talked with Steevo, how everyone keeps tearing there car apart, to change this modify that, and not a whole bunch are getting put back together in a timely manner, but like I said I'm at the right time at the right place, What do my peers think??? |
Steve...if you have the money, go ahead and do it. You know damn well that you're going to tear that thing apart later to put that Quadra-link in. Might as well do it now so it's not on your mind later on.
My car is 2 weeks away from paint and I'm STILL messing around with the suspensions. Right now the whole front suspension and frame are out of the car because I had a "change of heart". Ridiculous. |
Do it now.

yeah, it's a lot tougher to convert later as the normal minitub crossmember is different than the quadralink crossmember, and a pain to convert it over. Do it once.

If you even think you might want to do it--do it now. I had the whole leaf spring mini tub kit in and painted and then I did it. It is actually a very simple install if you have the car apart already. Very nice setup.
