stupid mistake... what to do.. now

Made a stupid mistake... had my floor and entire undercar coated... BEFORE... I welded in the seat braces.... so if I weld them in now the coating will likely melt right off and need to be completely redone...

SO I was wondering if anyone has any thoughts or practical knowledge of aubody adhesives... I was wondering if something similar to a panel adhesive or something like it could be used instead of welding the seat pans.

Or is that ida just plain stupid and seat frames are not to be toiled with... weld them and bit the bullet of re-doing the coating...?

Note I had the coating professionally done.. so I would have to bring it somewhere to have it fixed when the coating gets burned off by welding...

Why can't you just bolt them in?

We are working on a truck with a bedliner in it, and we were able to cut and re-weld the bed support rails under the bed floor without ruining the coating. Depending on what the coating is, you might be able to weld slowly and keep the heat down and not affect it. Our bedliner softened a bit, then re-hardened when cool and you cannot tell it ever happened.

Agree with Kevin; depends on the coating.

I had fab done after my UPOL undercoat. Just grind undercoat off weld areas, do the fab (wear a mask), and touch up the undercoat. Done.
