EFI Wire harness too long - URGENT

I have an older Retrotek EFI system that when I installed, I just bundled up the wires under the dash. The instructions say to do so and not to shorten them. These wires are really long and are a bit of an eyesore. Can I cut them and splice them back together? Butt splice or solder them? I need to get this on the road tomorrow and would like to do this if I can.

Thanks

if the wires term at a weatherpac or similar why not just pull them out of the plugs and shorten them and install new terminal ends instead of cutting splicing?

Typically the reason they don't want people cutting the wires is because you can add resistance to the circuit depending on the quality of the splice. In an EFI system, this can cause a lot of headaches.

Like Vegas said, I would try to re-terminate the connector at the length you need rather than adding splice points to the wires.

Thanks guys. This is no longer URGENT. I've decided to go ahead and wait to do this. I've ordered a firewall bulkhead connector and plan to shorten the wires when I install the connector.
