My transformation
Don't post here often, just wanted to show what I have busted my arse on all winter. And when I busted arse, i mean it. I work shift work, 12 hour days at time and every other weekend (i get 4 days off a month). Had a hernia operation in Dec. also, plus I have a teenager, house, and a girlfriend to juggle time around. Anyway, I got sick of the drag car look and style of my 71 Chevelle that I have owned for 26 years and decided to change it up to run autocross events. I've been running my 72 Elco for about 4 years now in local SCCA events and do well. Here's a few pics.
Enjoy! The Elco that I almost daily drive except for snow. http://i225.photobucket.com/albums/d...pslhbpuujf.jpg The way my 71 did look http://i225.photobucket.com/albums/d...psd7f8d0ee.jpg How it is now with all UMI suspension, LS1 disc brakes, TSW Amaroo wheels and Nitto 555 tires. http://i225.photobucket.com/albums/d...ps57a250ke.jpg |
Nice transformation.
I bet she handles a lot better now! |
Don't know yet, only drove it 10 miles to get gas and the front end aligned. I have a race this weekend, I'll find out.....LOL.

Congrats on the progress. The Chevelle is looking great. Be sure to come around more often if you can.

Wow -- Yeah the title of this thread fits perfectly. From Pro Street to Pro Touring... Personally I like the Chevelle WAY better now. Just seems "fresh". Nice job!
I used to have a '69 SS396 El Camino -- Dusk Blue with a white vinyl top.... back in the day the tires were SO USELESS... all it ever did was light 'em up. Fun but not fast. LOL |
Thanks for the nice comments.
Would you all believe that the paint is 25 years old? Had it painted in 1990 with a 1990 Pontiac green. |
Looking good! Nice work.

Very cool! Nice transformation!

Can't tell in the second picture, are the ghost stripes gone now?
