best head gaskets (please help)

Hi there, I am building a ls3 stroker motor 4.070 bore 4" stroke for my 69 camaro .Just wondering what would be the best head gasket for this set up. I will be using arp head studs. Would the LS9 head gaskets be ideal ? Any input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Mike

Stock ls3 gasket is what I would use.

Cometic is a good gasket I have used a few times it can be ordered in different bore sizes and thicknesses I would look into those.

Assuming you are a building an engine with mild compression, and nothing extremely radical, the GM MLS gaskets are a nice package. Some advice for you however...these aluminum motors will seal head gaskets best when both surfaces, meaning block deck, and head surface, are freshly machined.

I would either stick with the stock GM headgasket or go with a Mr.Gasket MLS head gasket. Cometic also makes a good headgasket. But maching both the head and block is recomended but I know a lot of guys who just surface the heads with no sealing problems.

I used to be the product manager for Mr.Gasket and the MLS head gaskets we purchased from the same company that supplied ferrari and austin martin. For being an old brand name surprisingly they let me bring in a high end high quality MLS gasket since we didn't have the ability to make them in house.
