Edelbrock Perform RPM intake and stock '67 Firebird hood. . .clearance/interference??

I want to switch to an aluminum intake manifold on my 1967 Firebird 400 coupe. . .I had planned on going with an Edelbrock Performer RPM intake manifold, but I saw one review on either Jeg's or Summit that said the intake didn't fit under their hood. . .didn't mention what year the Firebird was though (IIRC). . .

. . .anyone have any experience with this and be able to tell me if the Performer RPM will fit under a stock Firebird 400 hood or if I need to stick with the non-RPM Performer.

Thanks!

I had an Edelbrock intake on a 68 Firebird 400 a while ago. I recall it being very tight but I'm not certain if it was a Performer or Performer RPM. You may need a shorter element to make it fit worst case, but I would think you can make it work.

--I have an Ram Air type hood--
I have an performer rpm in my 67 Firebird, with an thin open spacer, 4150 Holley, drop air cleaner, I dont remember the spacer thickness, it is under 0.5 inches. I think maybe 0.45

Whitout an spacer it should fit easily. Just watch air cleaner clearance to hood.

I have had on a 1.0 inch spacer, but then I had to have the air cleaner lid very close to the carb and little/zero hood clearance. It works, but I felt it would be an restriction with the lid too close to the choke housing, whitout choke housing it would be better.

And I have an "filter" lid, so i can tighten/adjust it somewhat closer to the carb than an hard lid, I have actually cut the length of an bolt so when it bottoms in the carb the lid is perfectly adjusted heightwise against carb and hood. But I think an Moroso type lid would fit.

I have an Ram Air type hood. I dont remember the dropped base height, 1 inch or more.
